BUT WHERE ARE THE WOMEN?

Hey did you feel sad last week, thinking about how little the lives and health of women seemed to matter to the GOP House members who voted for a bill that makes rape and c-sections and basically BEING A WOMAN into preexisting conditions? OH BUT THEY CAN my friends. THEY CAN.

Evil Trumpcare 2.0 has been been punted over to the Senate, who is indicating that they're planning to 'start from scratch' on this bill before they hear it. Ok, well, maybe that's a good thing right? Maybe there's hope! Yeah. No. Mitch McConnell has convened a Senate Healthcare Working Group to draft new healthcare legislation AND IT IS COMPRISED OF 13 WHITE MEN (ok 12β€”Ted Zodiac Cruz is in there). NO WOMEN. (For the record: there are 5 GOP women Senators: Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Joni Ernst Deb Fischer, and Shelley Capito. There is ONE Black GOP Senator: Tim Scott.)

This will not stand. This is 2017, not 1917.

#ACTION: Call em all. Even if they're not your Senator. Call em.

Script: "I'm calling to let Sen.______ know that it's unacceptable that there are no women in the Senate healthcare working group. Women make up nearly 51% of America and our health MATTERS. It's bad enough that the Republican leadership in the Senate has decided to take a partisan approach by excluding Democrats when they should be looking for common ground. But it's absolutely reprehensible that they have formed an entirely male group to draft the Senate's version of the health care bill. There are 5 female GOP Senators who COULD be on this committee, and I ask Sen.______ to recognize this as a problem, and to take a stand. Add a woman to the working group."
